We’re committed to protecting the beautiful wildlife and landscape here at The Deepings Caravan Park — and we invite all our guests to join us.
Small actions from each visitor can make a big difference to the environment, local nature, and our shared future.
Here are simple ways you can help during your stay.
🌳 1. Respect Wildlife & Natural Habitats
- Enjoy our new wildflower meadows, trees, and wildlife areas, but please stay on paths where possible.
- Avoid disturbing bird boxes, bat boxes, hedgehog houses, and bug hotels.
- Keep pets under control to protect ground-nesting birds and small mammals.
- Do not feed wildlife — it can harm their natural behaviour.
Every step you take to give wildlife space helps them thrive.
🔋 2. Save Energy Where You Can
Our park runs on a 110kW solar array, solar lighting, and other renewable systems — and you can help reduce energy use even further.
- Turn off lights and appliances when not needed.
- Unplug chargers when not in use.
- Use natural daylight as much as possible.
- Keep doors and windows closed when heating is on (in caravans or lodges).
Small choices add up to big energy savings.
🚰 3. Use Water Responsibly
Fresh water is a precious resource. You can help by:
- Taking shorter showers.
- Running taps only when needed.
- Reporting leaks or dripping taps to reception.
- Avoiding unnecessary washing of vehicles.
Protecting water helps protect the wetlands and wildlife nearby.
🚮 4. Reduce, Reuse & Recycle
We compost food waste and garden waste onsite and encourage responsible waste reduction across the park.
- Use recycling bins for paper, plastics, cans and glass.
- Bring reusable bags, bottles and containers when exploring.
- Avoid single-use plastics where possible.
- Take leftover items home rather than discarding them.
Recycling helps protect nature and reduces our carbon footprint.
🦔 5. Help Us Protect Nature-Friendly Areas
We are planting 145 native trees, developing a wetland area, and creating habitats for frogs, dragonflies and pollinators.
You can help by:
- Keeping to designated paths around new planting areas.
- Avoiding trampling wildflowers or long-grass zones.
- Not leaving food scraps outdoors (they attract unwanted pests).
- Reporting any wildlife sightings — we love to hear about them!
By respecting habitat zones, you support our conservation work.
🚗 6. Travel Sustainably Where Possible
If you’re able to:
- Car-share when visiting the park.
- Use our EV charging point if you have an electric vehicle.
- Walk or cycle around the local area when practical.
- Support local shops and services to reduce travel miles.
Greener travel means cleaner air and a calmer environment.
🔈 7. Keep Noise to a Minimum
We use low-noise electric maintenance tools to reduce wildlife disturbance — and we ask guests to help maintain a peaceful environment.
- Avoid loud music, especially at night.
- Keep noise low around wildlife areas.
- Respect quiet hours so everyone can enjoy the tranquillity.
Peace and quiet benefit both guests and wildlife.
🛍 8. Support Local & Sustainable Businesses
Where possible, choose:
- Locally produced food
- Eco-friendly products
- Businesses that support conservation or sustainability
This helps strengthen the local community and reduces environmental impact.
♻️ 9. Be Mindful of Fire Safety & Waste
- Use BBQs and firepits only in designated areas.
- Never leave litter, food or packaging behind.
- Dispose of cigarette ends safely.
Clean spaces help wildlife stay healthy and safe.
🤝 10. Leave No Trace
Before leaving:
- Remove all litter from your pitch.
- Recycle where possible.
- Leave nature exactly as you found it.
- Consider choosing low- or zero-waste products next time you visit.
Together, we can keep The Deepings Caravan Park a beautiful, wildlife-friendly place for all.
